F.A.Q.

Grizzly Mountain Organic Beard Dye

How much dye comes in a box/pack?

100 grams

How long is a pack expected to last?

It depends on the length and type of beard. If you have a goatee, it should last you four to eight months. If you have a stubble beard, it should last you four to six weeks. If you have a ZZ Top beard, it is enough for one or two applications.

Does the beard dye expire?

The beard dye does not expire. However, it must be sealed and stored at room temperature after opening.

How do you put the beard dye on?

You mix the dye in a bowl with boiling hot water until you get the consistency of toothpaste. You apply with the applicator brush that is supplied. You apply it to your face as you would a mud pie. You apply from ten minutes to thirty minutes depending on how your beard reacts. The longer it is on, the darker it gets. Remember it continues to darken slightly over the next 24 to 48 hours. Always thoroughly wash with hot water and soap after the application is finished.

Can I grow a stylish stubble beard even though my beard is completely grey?

Yes. To grow a stylish stubble beard you have to:

  1. Wait for three or four days for your beard to grow
  2. Mix two heaping teaspoons of Grizzly Mountain Beard dye in a bowl with boiling hot water, until it has the consistency of toothpaste
  3. Apply evenly over your beard as you would a facial mud pie
  4. Let dry for fifteen to 30 minutes (depends on the coarseness of the beard) and then thoroughly wash off with soap and hot water.
  5. Three or four days later, repeat. Keep repeating every three or four days until you have achieved the desired length.
  6. Afterwards, trim your beard with a stubble clipper at the desired length every three to four days, followed immediately with the application of Grizzly Mountain Beard Dye.
What if I develop a reaction?

If you feel any itching or adverse reaction, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. It is plant dye. It is not normal to have any type of reaction. It’s like placing a potato peel on your skin…the odds of having an allergic reaction are pretty remote!

What if it does not work?

Our beard dye works differently from one beard to the next depending on coarseness of the hair follicle. You might have to experiment in order to come up with the ideal application for you. Ie: colour and length of time on your beard

What if I am not satisfied?

If not satisfied, return unused portion of the beard dye for full refund within two weeks from the date of receipt.

Will the Original Grizzly Mountain Organic Beard Dye stain my face?

No it will not stain your face if used as directed.  Do not leave on your face for a period in excess of 30 minutes since the longer you leave on, the harder it is to wash off. You must always thoroughly wash your face with soap and hot water after each application.

Will Grizzly Mountain Beard Dye turn my beard green?

It will not turn your beard green.  On the first application, it will generally leave varying degrees of greenish tinge that should oxidize overnight.  The greenish tinge should oxidize into brownish black.  Greenish tinge is only present in the first few applications.  After that, the dye oxidizes immediately to brownish/black.

How long does it take to turn brownish/black?

After the first application, some beards will oxidize immediately into brownish/black whereas others will take several hours.  We recommend that you apply at night before going to bed (especially the first few applications until you know how your beard reacts with the organic dye). The next morning, you will be able to appreciate the colour absorbed and adjust your exposure accordingly.  Remember that the dye will continue to darken slightly over the next 24 to 48 hours.

I have a very coarse beard and have applied Grizzly Mountain Black Beard Dye repeatedly but my beard continues to have a greenish tinge with very little colour. What can I do?

If you have a coarse and resistant beard, you must first apply Grizzly Mountain Organic Base before applying the organic black beard dye. The organic base coats your beard follicles and allows for the absorption of the organic black beard dye.

I have been using your Grizzly Mountain Organic Dark Brown Beard Dye for several weeks now. Initially I was very pleased with the colour but lately I have been getting a recurrent purplish tinge in my beard. Why is that? And what can I do?

Recurrent purplish tinge is generally associated with alcohol on your skin in the form of lotions, soaps, colognes etc or in your system as a result of drinking alcoholic beverages. Other contaminants could also be responsible.  People generally touch their face thousands of times a day without thinking.  Usually a correlation can be made between the purplish tinge and the area where you touch your face.  Contaminants reacting on your beard could be anything from sodium, alcohol, sweat, dirt etc.

If you cannot isolate and eliminate the contaminant that is causing the purplish tinge, apply Grizzly Mountain Organic Base directly on your beard at the first hint of purplish tinge (usually in the morning). Organic Base effectively neutralizes the purplish tinge leaving a very nice dark brown.

Grizzly Mountain Organic Base

What is Grizzly Mountain Organic Base?

Grizzly Mountain Organic Base is composed of natural herbs and plant dye. It is 100% chemical free.  It was developed in order to address two problems encountered by some individuals with organic dye.  Firstly, it was developed to enable resistant and coarse beard follicles to absorb the organic color (especially the black) and secondly, as a way of eliminating and controlling unwanted purplish tinge.

I tried organic dye in the past but my beard follicles are too coarse and do not absorb much colour, what can I do?

If you have coarse and resistant beard follicles, you apply Grizzly Mountain Organic Base the same way as the regular Beard dye. Leave the base on for thirty minutes; completely wash off with hot soap and water.  You then immediately apply Grizzly Mountain Beard dye as a regular application.  Leave on for thirty minutes. Completely wash off with hot soap and water.  The next day you will have interesting color in your beard.  Repeat if necessary.

I applied Grizzly Mountain Dark Brown Beard Dye for the first few weeks and I absolutely loved the colour. But then I noticed a purplish tinge around my chin. Why is that and how do I get rid of it?

Most often cause (not the only one) of purplish tinge is the presence of alcohol in your system or on your skin in the form of lotions, soaps, colognes, aftershaves etc..  The culprit could also be other unknown contaminants that you pick up with your fingers and then touch your face. People touch their face without thinking a few thousand times per day. Usually there is a correlation between face touching and purplish tinge. If you are unable to identify and eliminate the contaminant, then you use Grizzly Mountain Organic Base.  You apply it like the Organic dye.  When you first notice a purplish tinge in the morning, you apply the Organic Base to the affected area.  Let dry for 15 minutes and then completely wash off with soap and hot water. This will neutralize the tinge.  Repeat if necessary.
